Title Description Convenors
Quantitative geoscience data analysis for mineral exploration targeting This session aims to highlight the developments in the field of mineral potential modeling and quantitative geospatial data analysis in the past two and a half decades since the advent and proliferation of GIS technology in the late eighties. The range of themes to be covered include: critical reviews of existing spatial data analysis and modeling techniques, proposals of new models and algorithms, feature-pattern analyses, and quantitative resource assessments. A key focus will be on incorporating information on the third dimension in modeling. Application case studies, particularly from the African continent will be highlighted.
