| Stratigraphic and morphologic signatures of continental shelves | With modern advances in sediment coring, bathymetric and seismic reflection techniques, the understanding of the stratigraphic and morphologic signatures of continental shelves has been much enhanced. The complex relationships between sea level variability, sediment supply and the dominant oceanographic setting are preserved within these signatures. This proposed session would focus on the global variability of continental shelf stratigraphy and geomorphology, the aim of which is to reconcile the overarching controls on the global evolution of continental shelves. | Andrew Green, Andrew Cooper and Burghard Flemming |
