| Application of Geo-information in the Earth Sciences | Geo-information has in the last two decades played an undisputed role in the development of the earth-sciences, where its application has progressed from a largely data capturing phase to the application phase. Many web applications for the viewing and exploring of data have become available and one only needs to visit the web sites of the world's major geological institutions to find such applications. Much free data have become available in the public domain and on the internet. The purpose of this session will be to showcase the application of geo-information science in all aspects of the earth-sciences, but specifically to probe innovative approaches to the application of GISc. | Hermanus Brynard |
