Description

This workshop would provide a quick-start introduction to GIS-based mineral prospectivity modeling. We aim to provide enough background to the participants to enable them to take up prosepctivity modeling independently.

Programme outline
Session 1 (8 am – 12 pm):

• Introduction to GIS based mineral prospectivity modelling
• Concepts and flow chart of methodology for prospectivity modelling
• Brief overview of GIS tools used for derivation of input maps

Day 2: Prospectivity Modelling Approaches
Session 2 (2 pm – 6 pm):

• Data drive model – Weights of evidence (WofE) modeling
• Theory and Concepts of WofE
• Implementation of WofE
